TACK History

1948 – TACK Training founded
Two brothers, George and Alfred Tack, established the original TACK company in London in 1948. The company formed part of a diversified group known as the TACK Organisation. TACK Training was born out of the brothers' first venture, a business called NuAire. The company specialised in heating and ventilation systems and, with George an engineer and Alfred a salesman, the brothers were well placed to make the venture a success.

Alfred, a charismatic entrepreneur, soon realised that to stay ahead of the competition they needed to train their sales team in the art of professional selling, a groundbreaking approach! Before long news of this new phenomenon, known as Sales Training, spread and other companies asked if they could come along and benefit from the training themselves. George and Alfred charged them a guinea to attend and TACK Training was born!

1955 – The start of TACK's international network
TACK continues to lead the training market both in the UK and internationally. It is the only training organisation with such an extensive international network of partners, providing its customers with the same consistently high quality of training and development worldwide. The first overseas partner was recruited in 1955 and since then the TACK Worldwide network has increased to 50 countries with training provided in 25 languages.

1995 – TACK International becomes a separate company
Following the deaths of George and Alfred in 1992 and 1993 respectively, the directors, employees and international partners purchased the business with a successful management buy-out from the TACK Organisation. The company moved its offices from Central London to Latimer, Bucks.  The mission, values and philosophies remained unchanged and worldwide expansion continued.

2005 – TACK International joins PRC Group
After 10 years as an independent company, the sale of the business to the PRC Group was completed in January 2005. PRC is Greece’s leading international consulting and business services group which also owns TMI (Time Manager International), another worldwide management training organisation. PRC’s strategy is to continue growing the TACK International brand worldwide while maintaining high quality and service which have always been the signature of TACK.
